The World Without Genocide (World) student chapter at MH is part of a grassroots movement to educate and mobilize local community members and elected officials to prevent and stop genocide and other mass atrocities and to protect innocent people from discrimination and injustice.
Examples of successful past American grassroots movements include the abolition of slavery, the extension of voting rights to women, the legalization of civil rights for all Americans, and the implementation of policies to protect the environment. These movements, all started by ordinary people, created greater access to social and economic justice throughout our country.
Join World’s Student Chapter to
- Engage students and the MH community in education, outreach, and advocacy
- Build skills, leadership, and a human rights network throughout the region;
- Promote human rights education and awareness;
- Plan events (human rights career panel; community service project; talks on current issues of concern)
The first meeting of the Student Chapter will take place on Thursday, September 8, 12 pm-1 pm CT.
