The Health Law Institute is introducing a new course this upcoming J-term titled LGBTQ+ Health: Law, Policy, and Advocacy, that will be taught by our new adjunct professor Phil Duran. He currently works as the Senior Advocate for Aging & Gender Care Access at Rainbow Health.
Course Description: This course will introduce students to historical and current concepts underpinning LGBTQ health policy; a broad range of issues and settings where these concepts play out in the real world; a range of tools available for individual and systemic advocacy; and personal, professional, and strategic considerations informing effective advocacy.
Professor Duran hopes that “this course will introduce students to historical and current concepts underpinning LGBTQ health policy; a broad range of issues and settings where these concepts play out in the real world; a range of tools available for individual and systemic advocacy; and personal, professional, and strategic considerations informing effective advocacy.”
It will be available to students in their 2L year and above, and is a 1-credit asynchronous course. Don’t miss it when registration opens in November!
