MJF Street Law Program (Open to all law students) sign-up begins Thursday December 1st!
Make the law come alive for youth – teach them about things that matter: their rights with respect to landlord-tenant law, student loans, criminal law, contracts, and more. Law students pair up and commit to teaching middle and high school students (and some adult learning centers) weekly during the Spring semester. This opportunity is around a 2 hour a week commitment.
Volunteers work with the classroom teachers to identify the most relevant topics for their class. Though you are responsible for the content of your sessions, there are many lesson plans and tools at your disposal.
Street Law volunteers will attend a MANDATORY two-day virtual training in January where they will learn about Street Law, teaching to middle/high school youth, how to be the best you that you can be, and leave prepared to teach in the spring!
