I am Prof. Jonathan Mputu, Esq., a private California NBA Player Attorney, former WME Executive, Sports Law Adjunct Professor at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, Entertainment Executive, and I’ve partnered with TMFE Group, LLC to teach a six-week, one hour, pre-recorded, online course focused on bringing students from across the country more access to the Sports and Entertainment Industry. The course starts February 1st, 2023 and is followed by a free networking event on March 11, 2023.
This course, How to Break Into the Sports and Entertainment Industry, is based off of an extended version of a law school course that I currently teach at TJSL, Sports Agent Registration and Practice. The course dives into the following categories:
- Week 1: What is the Sports and Entertainment industry?
- Week 2: Who are the big players and what type of jobs are in the industry?
- Week 3: What is Networking, and how do you build relationships?
- Week 4: Where can you find Internships and how do you separate yourself as a candidate?
- Week 5: What are Organizations and which ones should you join?
- Week 6: What are vital resources that I can use now to prepare for day 1 on the job?
- Week 7: Networking Event
As the start date is fast approaching, TMFE Group is currently offering the following discounts to students all over the country:
First 100 Students – Free: 100PERCENTOFF2023
Second 100 Students – 50% Off: HALFOFF2023
This is perfect for students looking to snag a last minute spring internship or need help getting a summer or fall internship. After interning in law school at Athletes First football Agency, LA Clippers, and MVP Sports Group baseball agency, and after 5 more years as a Business Affairs Executive at Endeavor working for both WME and IMG, I am excited at the opportunity to develop this course with TMFE Group to give back to students.
