TORT (Theatre of the Relatively Talentless) is a student group over at the University of Minnesota Law School. Each year, their organization performs a law school musical!
The musical is written by law students, performed by law students (including a pit ensemble), and created by law student production and executive teams. You’re invited to attend the production.
The show is jukebox musical style. They take a well known story, change it to a law school topic, and then incorporate well-known songs, changing the lyrics to also be about law school. This year’s show is TORTanic, which follows an ill-fated law school semester at sea program that turns into a riverboat cruise down the Mississippi. Big law students have claimed the top deck, while public interest students are sent below deck. Can the power of the perfect outline made by Jack and Rose bring the students together? Has there ever been a singing iceberg in a freshwater river?
The show is this weekend, March 24th and 25th, at 6:30 pm at the Ted Mann Concert Hall. Here is a link to the website, which has the ticket links on it. We will also be selling tickets at the door directly before the show.
