“Helping to bring Ukrainian refugees to America… one family at a time.”
Ukrainian Mothers and Children Transport (UMACT) is the collaborative effort of lawyers, professors, and law students in securing travel visas for Ukrainians to come to the US for safety from the war in their country.
The program was established by Michael Bazyler, professor at Fowler Law School at Chapman University in California and the son of Holocaust survivors who had fled from the Nazis to the Soviet Union. The family was eventually resettled in Minneapolis.
Mitchell Hamline law students and faculty are invited to join UMACT’s important work. The program is expanding to assist Russians in Minnesota who have fled in opposition to Putin’s war.
