Attention law students!
We are seeking motivated individuals to join our collaborative effort – The Possibility of Hope Project – to find real multifaceted solutions to the problem of mass shootings. As we all know, mass shootings have become an increasingly prevalent issue in our society. Indeed, as of April 17, 2023, more mass shootings occurred in the US than days occurred in the year. As a nation, what we are doing now to stop these tragedies from occurring is not working. We believe that by working together, we can make a meaningful impact in reducing the risk of these tragedies.
The Possibility of Hope Project will bring together individuals from different backgrounds, including law students from law schools around the country, lawyers, medical students, mental healthcare professionals and others with various areas of expertise to tackle this issue from multiple perspectives. Whether you are interested in gun control and regulation, mental health resources and support, identifying warning signs and intervening before a shooting occurs, or support safe and responsible gun ownership, there is a place for you in our group.
As a member of The Possibility of Hope Project, you will have the opportunity to work with like-minded individuals who are passionate about making a difference in their communities. You will also gain valuable experience collaborating with others, conducting research, community organizing, political lobbying, and developing real solutions to complex problems.
The Possibility of Hope Project will officially launch with an information session at 5:00 p.m. CT on Monday June 5, 2023. If you are interested in joining The Possibility of Hope Project, please email Rick Petry at rick.petry@mitchellhamline.edu with your name, contact information, and a brief statement about why you are interested in this project. We look forward to hearing from you and working together to find real solutions to this important issue.
