Participating in the Recruitment Program (OCI)?
Note these upcoming dates and reminders!
July 5:
Submit your resume and cover letter to your JD Career Counselor by 6/5 to ensure timely review prior to application deadline. Remember: You MUST have 1 version of your resume and cover letter approved in Symplicity by a CPD Team Member before you can apply through Symplicity! Upload your documents to Symplicity to initiate the approval process. Once your resume and cover letter have been approved, you can update them as needed and upload and submit future versions without further approval. If you have already had your documents approved in Symplicity but would like additional feedback on your current versions, please send them directly to your JD Career Counselor via email by July 5. Do not wait until the last minute to upload your resume and cover letter for approval!
July 11, 11:59pm CST:
Application Deadline for all positions posted through the Summer Recruitment Program on Symplicity
Coming Up:
- Sign up for a Mock Interview in Symplicity (Events > Workshops)
- Check out your Business Suit: Is it clean? Does it still fit? If not, take advantage of July 4th sales and make sure to get it to a dry cleaners before interviews begin July 24! It is expected that candidates will wear formal business attire to any interviews.
- Polish your writing sample: If you’re using your writing sample from a class, make sure to incorporate any feedback you received from faculty or practitioners.
- Meet with your JD Career Counselor about your application strategy and employers of interest to you. Remember this is a busy season in the CPD office – please do not wait to the last minute!
Meet the Employers Reception: Thank You!
Thank you to everyone who attended this week’s Meet the Employer’s Reception on campus! We received very positive feedback from employers about the wonderful conversations they had with you, and they are eager to see your application materials. We encourage you to send personalized thank you notes to attorneys you connected with. Email is fine, and they can be brief, but it is always helpful to mention something that will help them remember you. More Thank You Note tips here!
