Are you interested in social justice lawyering, defending the right to protest, prison abolition, advancing LGBTQ+ rights, immigrants’ rights, environmental justice, indigenous sovereignty, opposing U.S. imperialism abroad, and similar legal issues? Then join the National Lawyers’ Guild! The NLG was the first racially integrated bar association in the U.S. and has been using the law to fight for progressive causes since 1937. Becoming a member of the NLG will allow you to connect with attorneys doing social justice work and like-minded students here at Mitchell Hamline. The NLG also provides trainings, resources, and a job board for progressive legal workers, law students, and attorneys. Email Kellie Rock at kellie.rock@mitchellhamline.edu to join the student chapter or with questions you have about the organization.
