Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of General Counsel (OGC) is the chief legal advisor to EPA. Over 200 lawyers in the office provide legal advice on all the federal environmental statutes (such as the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act), federal procedural statutes (such as the Administrative Procedure Act and the Federal Advisory Committee Act), the myriad federal statutes that govern EPA’s day-to-day operations (such as statutes pertaining to civil rights or federal procurement and personnel), and international laws and treaties.
