The Minnesota Supreme Court is seeking four Mitchell Hamline School of Law students to work as Legal Residents during Fall Semester 2024. This is an extraordinary opportunity made available to a small number of MH students each year.
During Fall 2024, Justice Anne McKeig, Justice Paul Thissen, Justice Gordon Moore, and Justice Karl Procaccini will each supervise one Resident. Residencies are full-time, and selected students will work in exchange for academic credit. Minnesota Supreme Court residents will not be able to concurrently hold any other employment, internship, etc., relating to the law due to potential conflicts of interest.
Required Criteria for Applicants:
- Applicant must be in their last three semesters of law school to work as a Resident
- Passion to serve the people of the State of Minnesota
- Strong research, writing, and analysis skills
- Must be able to keep information confidential
- Able to work either in-person or remote (as public health and MN Supreme Court policies allow). Currently, the position is a hybrid work situation
- Students of diverse backgrounds are highly encouraged to apply
