The Ramsey County Bar Association has partnered with Mitchell Hamline to provide a job shadow program April 14-18. All students are welcome to participate through in-person and virtual options regardless of geographic location. This program provides an excellent opportunity for law students to spend a few hours getting a firsthand look at what the legal world is really like outside of law school in one of ten different practice areas.
While the format of each job shadow will differ based on student and attorney interest, past job shadow participants have observed hearings and client meetings, toured organizations, and networked with judges and attorneys over lunch. Judges and lawyers from all sizes of firms or public agencies, prosecutors, public defenders, and corporate counsel are all welcome to host participants.
Participating students will be able to:
- Interact with legal professionals in a practice area of their choice and learn skills needed to be successful in that field,
- Take a behind-the-scenes look at daily work activities involved in that occupation,
- Build their network with legal professionals, and
- Enhance their academic experience and resume.
Register for the program by Monday, March 31. You’ll receive information about your match and schedule the week of April 7 from Sabina Zeenat, Placement Service Director of the Ramsey County Bar Association. You and your attorney match will work together to design your experience at that time.
