This moot court is held at Southern Illinois University School of Law in Carbondale and is one of the best moot court experiences available to students in the nation interested in contemporary issues of health law and policy. Coach Joe Van Thomme ’09 is a shareholder and lead prosecuting attorney at the firm of Eckberg Lammers and has been coaching this competition since 2016.. He specializes in criminal prosecution for nineteen communities across Minnesota. He handles all facets of misdemeanor prosecution, from charges to jury verdict. He is a regular member of the leadership council for the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Criminal Law Section, is a board member for Standpoint, a member of Violence Free MN and is a member of the DWI Task Force.
