Mitchell Hamline’s newest graduates will once again walk the bases at St. Paul’s minor league baseball stadium at the school’s commencement ceremony.
The event on June 18 will be the second year the school has hosted commencement at CHS Field. Graduates will include those who finish their studies in the spring, as well as the 83 students who graduated in fall or after the J-term.
School leadership consulted with medical experts about the best ways to hold an event during a pandemic. There was also a town hall with students to get their input.
“We felt CHS Field offered the safest option for us because it’s outdoors and we can still invite more people to the ceremony while also keeping safe distances to prevent COVID-19 transmission,” said Dean of Students Lynn LeMoine ’11. “The St. Paul Saints were great partners last year and we look forward to working with them again.”
The event will also be livestreamed for those who cannot or choose not to attend in person.
