About
Since 1990, Mitchell Hamline has provided this seven-week summer program featuring two courses: American Legal Systems and Legal Reasoning and Writing. It is a pre-law program for students who have completed their sophomore year at various Minnesota State colleges and universities. Those schools recruit students and grant the students the credit for taking the program. Tuition is arranged between Mitchell Hamline and the partner institution. To qualify, students must have a minimum C+ average in core subjects.
Former Assistant Dean for Multicultural Affairs, Andriel Dees organized, directed, and taught the courses. Sharon Van Leer, director, diversity, equity, and inclusion, coordinates the program.
