Executive council
President: Nikki Johnson
My name is Nicoli Johnson, and I am SBA President for 2023-2024. I’m a 3L Blended Student, currently residing in the twin cities. Born and raised in Belize City, Belize. I am a Garifuna woman and first-generation college student with diplomatic certification from the United Nations. I currently work in the nonprofit sector, and plan to advance my career with my Juris Doctor degree. When I’m not working or going to school, I enjoy shopping at the Mall of America and hikes with family & friends in any of the beautiful nature reserves of Minnesota.
Vice President: Elliot Culp
I am Elliot Culp, and the SBA Vice President for 2023-24. I am a 3L Blended Student and currently living in St. Paul. I have worked in many areas in government, from campaign worker to organizing my own campaign. Most of my experience is in the field of economic development, specifically managing government programs for small communities in Southeastern Minnesota. This has informed my interests in pursuing my JD, I am hoping to get into administrative law here in Minnesota. When not working or in class, I like getting out on the water with my family, whether that is swimming, skiing, or stomping in puddles.
Treasurer: Rachel Bakke
Rachel Bakke is the SBA Treasurer 2023-2024 and previous to that was class representative for the entire 2L class year. She works at the Minnesota State Senate full time when she’s not hurriedly reading her notes and textbooks for class. She’s on track to graduate in May 2024 with a Business Law certificate.
Representative At-Large: Braxton Wheeler Thomas
Braxton Wheeler Thomas is a 2L at Mitchell Hamline School of Law and serves as the At-Large Representative for the Student Bar Association (SBA). She is a native Mississippian with a Bachelor of Arts in History from Millsaps college and a Master of Arts in Southern Studies from the University of Mississippi. Outside of SBA, Braxton serves as the community liaison/social chair for the Black Law Students Association and is a student member of the Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers (MABL).
ABA Representative: Rhonda Bryant
Rhonda Bryant is a 3L+ at MH. Her legal interests include Alternative Dispute Resolution, including mediation and negotiation. Other professional interests include student mentorship, scholarly writing and publishing, and conducting research on student success in higher education. Married with two adult children, Rhonda spends her spare time visiting national historical sites with her husband and reading Star Wars books.
