Diversity at Mitchell Hamline
We believe diversity is important in the classroom, the school, and the legal profession. We’re devoted to increasing the diversity of the legal community by providing support, encouragement, advice, and learning opportunities to students, faculty, and staff from all backgrounds.
Mitchell Hamline is a welcoming and respectful community where individuals can explore differences in a safe and positive environment, and where students not only learn from their professors but also from the diverse life experiences of their classmates. Our culture allows us to get to know each other as peers and individuals.
Diversity programming
Students are required to attend at least six total hours of extracurricular diversity programming prior to graduation. Of the six hours, at least four hours must be in your first or second year.
Cultural affinity groups
The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion assists several student organizations in planning social activities, lectures, and events that inform and create community.
