Spotify is considering the series for English language audiobook production. Cold Lonely Courage and the Madeleine Toche Series were inspired by the true story of a young Belgian woman who helped countless Jewish children escape from the terrors of the Nazi regime.
Soren Petrek is a practicing criminal trial attorney, admitted to the Minnesota Bar in 1991. He is an alumnus of The University of Minnesota and Mitchell Hamline Law School. Married with two adult children, Soren lives and works in St. Paul, Minnesota. Soren’s novel, Cold Lonely Courage won Fade In Magazine’s 2009 Award for Fiction. Fade In was voted the nation’s favorite movie magazine by the Washington Post and the L.A. Times in 2011 and 2012. The New York Journal of Books, The Midwest Book Review, The St. Paul Pioneer Press, and many other editorial reviews have given Cold Lonely Courage exceptional praise. Tuck Magazine has published several of Soren’s poems, some of which have been included in Soren’s book of poetry, A Search for Solid Ground., edited by the celebrated Irish Poet Rosemary Canavan. UK based, Secret Attic selected Soren’s poem Mountain for its January 2021 chapbook publication.
