Minnesota Women Lawyers
Law Students: Take advantage of this unique opportunity to connect with an attorney who is excited to share her experience practicing law!
Attorneys: Be a legal leader by providing guidance to a law student who is very interested in your practice and experience in the legal profession.
Law students and attorneys will be matched in a mentoring relationship, based on student interest and attorney practice area. Given that student interest is very diverse, MWL welcomes attorneys with all levels of experience, in all geographic locations, and in all practice areas including non-traditional fields.
Timeline
October 2, 2017 Registration forms are due.
Week of October 9, 2017 MWL will make matches and send mentors/mentees contact information.
November 10, 2017 Deadline for students to contact mentor.
Mentors and mentees are expected to spend 10-12 hours on their mentoring relationship. Ideally, matches will meet at least 4 times throughout the year.
Goals and Expectations
- Students and attorneys must be current members of MWL. Membership for law students is only $25! Membership applications can be found on-line at http://www.mwlawyers.org/
- The registration form can also be filled out online through the following link: http://www.mwlawyers.org/page/Mentoring1718. Students and mentors need to complete the form by October 2, 2017.
- MWL suggests that mentors and mentees meet twice a semester. The student will be responsible for making initial contact with the attorney by November 10, 2017.
