Summer 2020 OCI: Application period is now open!
OCI is a fairly structured, rigid process. Students interested in participating should be sure to review the following information, check out available resources, mark your calendars with key dates, and contact your JD Career Counselor with any questions.
On-Campus Interviews, or OCI, generally refers to the time period in late summer through early fall when employers come to law school campuses to interview students for law clerk and attorney positions. This year, in light of COVID-19, many employers will be deferring their recruitment of law students until early 2021. However, there are many employers – including small and mid-sized firms, government agencies, and others, who are eager to connect with Mitchell Hamline students this summer through the OCI process. The list of registered participating employers will be available to view on Monday, June 15, when the application period, AKA “Bidding”, begins.
VIRTUAL INTERVIEWS. All interviews facilitated through Mitchell Hamline’s OCI process in Summer 2020 will take place virtually. Employers who wish to engage in second rounds of interviews (also known as “callbacks”), will decide individually whether those interviews will take place in-person or via remote means, as Mitchell Hamline does not coordinate interviews beyond the first round.
HOW TO PREPARE. For more information on the OCI process, including how best to prepare, please review our OCI webpage and view our brand new Nuts and Bolts Video Series: On-Campus Interview Process. This video was recently created and includes important updates, considerations, and changes that have arisen in a COVID-19 world.
