MSBA High School Mock Trial Seeking Volunteer Judges
For the 2020-21 season, the competitions will be virtual via Zoom.
We’re excited to announce that the majority of our high schools from last season and also two new schools have been busy preparing for the upcoming competitions. This year is a civil case and will teach the students about Force Majeure clauses relating to the pandemic. Kudos to our case writers for choosing a timely and informative issue.
Roughly 1500 students statewide will be competing from the safety of their homes while learning about the legal system and honing in on their critical thinking skills and teamwork. We are thrilled that so many students are able to rely on this program during this time of uncertainty.
There are 257 rounds scheduled and 773 judging positions that need to be filled to ensure the students’ hard work comes to fruition. We really need your help. Please sign up for as many trials as you can, all from the comfort and safety of your office or home. Each competition is 2 – 2.5 hours long.
To make sure you are prepared and comfortable in this new setting, we will be offering unlimited quick Zoom tutorial sessions in December and January. We will also have a Judges CLE Training on
December 11th to go over the rules and case.
We could not offer this wonderful program to junior and senior high school students without your support. Thank you and I hope you and your loved ones stay healthy!
