Meet the Employers Reception: Wednesday, January 13, 3-7pm CST – REGISTRATION NOW OPEN! Register Here: https://www.florecruit.com/register/mitchellhamline/3304/
Students participating in the Recruitment Program should make all efforts to attend the virtual Meet the Employers Reception on Wednesday, January 13, from 3-7pm CST. This annual event allows students to interact with employers participating in the Recruitment Program before formal interviews begin at the end of January. This is a great opportunity to learn more about participating organizations before finalizing applications and get to know some of the employers’ attorneys before formal interviews begin at the end of the month. Here’s what you should know:
- The event will be coordinated and take place through FloRecruit. Many employers will also use this platform for formal interviews at the end of January, so this is a great opportunity to get acquainted with the software prior to formal interviews. When you click on the Event Link, you will be able to view employer availability and sign up with those employers that interest you in the FloRecruit platform. You will receive a schedule from FloRecruit with all of the links you need to meet the attorneys in a video conference.
- You need not be available for the entire event – you will only attend those meetings during timeslots that you sign up for. Employers have selected a window within the 3-7pm CST timeframe during which they will “attend” the event, and you will be able to view their availability in FloRecruit.
- If you want to meet with an employer during this event, you must sign up in advance of the event through the FloRecruit platform. Unlike a traditional in-person reception, there will be no opportunity to spontaneously decide to meet with an organization on the day of the event. This event will have a more structured environment than the traditional free-flow of an in-person tabling event. This also means that if you sign up to meet with an employer, they will be expecting to see you during your selected timeslot.
- Photos & Demographics:
- When you are registering for the event, Flo Recruit will request demographic information. You are not required to provide this information. If provided, the information will be anonymized and only shown to employers if more than 50 students have registered with that specific employer. It is not attached to your student profile and only shown in aggregate.
- In addition, you will have the opportunity to upload a photo. You should only upload a professional-looking headshot or similar photo. Employers may view these photos after the event, as sometimes they are used to help refresh interviewers’ memories about the candidates they spoke to. You do not have to submit a photo to participate.
- If you do not see availability with an employer that you would like to meet with, please check back soon as we will be monitoring the sign-ups and adding availability as needed. You can also email careers@mitchellhamline.edu if you need assistance.
- If you require live captioning, or have other accessibility concerns or questions, please email Jessica.Bergman@mitchellhamline.edu so we can make necessary arrangements.
- While this is a virtual event, it is still your opportunity to make a great first impression. Students should plan to dress in business attire and be prepared to ask employers thoughtful questions. More information on how to prepare for the event will be sent to students who register.
Mock Interviews: January 12 – 15
The Office of Career and Professional Development has arranged for attorneys from our community to help students prepare for their interviews through the Mitchell Hamline Recruitment Program. Mock interviews with the attorneys will take place on January 12, 14, and 15 in the afternoon and early evening.
This is a unique opportunity to practice your virtual interviewing skills and gain valuable insight and feedback in a one-on-one setting with a practicing attorney. We encourage you to take advantage of it! To reserve your interview slot, please sign-up for one timeslot in Symplicity under Events > Workshops.
If you have questions, please email careers@mitchellhamline.edu.
