McCollum Crowley is a mid-sized law firm, with 22 attorneys licensed to practice in six states (Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, Colorado, and Arizona), with offices in Minnesota (Bloomington), Wisconsin, and Colorado. The firm was founded in 1986 and has grown steadily over the years. About half of its attorneys are civil litigators and the other half practice workers’ compensation defense.
The firm seeks a rising 2L or 3L to support its civil litigation and workers’ compensation practice (both remote work and in-person in its Bloomington, MN office) for Summer 2022, including:
- Legal research;
- Developing case strategy;
- Drafting of memorandums, motions, briefs, or other pleadings;
- Editing of motions or briefs;
- Involvement in discovery;
- Assist with deposition preparation/attend depositions to observe;
- Attend in preparing for arbitrations or mediations/attend to observe;
- Other legal work as needed.
Semester: Summer of 2022, and possibly beyond.
Hours: 90 hours over the summer (2 credits)
Compensation: $20/hour. This opportunity is both paid and eligible for academic externship credit.
