The Warren E. Burger American Inn of Court (“Inn”) was organized in 1989 and was chartered by the American Inns of Court Foundation on September 20, 1989. The Inn is affiliated with Mitchell Hamline School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota. Twin Cities attorneys and judges, including many Mitchell Hamline alumni, from a wide range of practice areas are members of the Inn of Court and meet monthly for networking, collegiality, and professional education and connections.
Student Administrator Responsibilities
Each year, Mitchell Hamline hires an Inn of Court Student Administrator (“Student Administrator”) to work with the judges, attorneys, and law students who manage and/or belong to the Inn of Court.
The Student Administrator works with the Inn of Court leadership to coordinate the Inn of Court’s activities and is responsible for:
- scheduling, coordinating, preparing for, and hosting monthly Inn of Court meetings and programming,
- managing membership of attorneys and judges to the Inn of Court,
- facilitating approval of CLE content presented at monthly Inn of Court meetings,
- meeting monthly with the leadership of the Inn of Court,
- coordinating monthly with law student members of the Inn of Court, and
- providing other support that may be necessary in the successful execution of the Inn of Court’s activities each year.
This is an excellent opportunity for the Student Administrator to build professional relationships and mentorships and learn more about the Minnesota legal profession.
Eligibility: The Student Administrator is a second, third, or fourth-year law student who is currently enrolled at Mitchell Hamline School of Law. The Student Administrator must be in academic good standing with Mitchell Hamline School of Law, work-study eligible, and successfully able to support the activities of the Inn of Court remotely and in person in St. Paul, Minnesota.
