Robins Kaplan LLP invites you to join us for an exclusive discussion on a groundbreaking patent infringement case that made history in the District of Minnesota.
In January 2024, a federal jury awarded $42.4 million to Willis Electric, marking what is reported to be the largest-ever patent jury verdict in the district. The verdict found Willis Electric’s competitor, Polygroup, accountable for willfully infringing on its patent related to innovative artificial Christmas tree lights. The district court entered final judgment in excess of $71 million while Polygroup now appeals.
Discover the journey from invention to litigation, the eight-year legal battle, and the relentless pursuit of justice that culminated in this significant win. Patrick Arenz, who led the trial team, will provide insights into the case, discuss the challenges faced, and share lessons learned from this monumental victory.
Lunch will be provided to those that RSVP by October 5p on Thursday, October 24th.
