The National Black Law Students Association (NBLSA) is excited to announce that registration for its inaugural William Henry Hastie, Jr. Federal Judiciary Week is now open! The organization’s goal for this inaugural week-long event is to expand the reach, access, and opportunities for aspiring and current law students interested in working within the federal system. NBLSA has organized several events, including panels of AUSAs, federal public defenders, and federal judicial clerks.
The Office of Attorney Recruitment and Management will lead the week off by presenting an information session on legal hiring programs at the U.S. Department of Justice, on Monday, October 14, 2024, at 7 PM ET. OARM oversees Justice’s outreach and recruitment efforts for law students and attorneys with the goal of attracting a highly qualified and diverse talent pool. DOJ is the world’s largest law office, employing more than 10,000 attorneys nationwide with opportunities in almost every practice area. The session will provide an overview of DOJ and its four legal hiring programs, including:
- Volunteer legal internships
- Summer Law Intern Program (SLIP)
- Attorney General’s Honors Program (HP)
- Experienced attorney hiring
