Willem C. Vis Moot
2019-20 Team Tryouts September 11, 12, 13, 14
Each year, over 300 teams from around the world compete in the Willem C. Vis Moot in Vienna, Austria.
Procedurally, the moot involves international commercial arbitration. Substantively, the moot focuses on international sales law (CISG). The competition takes place in mid-April but the work begins in late September and will continue in earnest through the competition. In addition to writing two briefs, and preparing for Vienna, we also compete in several pre-moot competitions in January and February |
Preparation for tryouts: You’ll need a 5-minute oral argument and a 5-10 page writing sample (preferably a brief) for the tryouts.
If you plan on trying out, please email Professor Henry Allen Blair at allen.blair@mitchellhamline.edu. He will then email you with signup instructions and additional details. You can also reach out to this year’s student coach, Megan Gjere at megan.gjere@mitchellhamline.edu for more information or with questions. |
