The Bureau of Mediation Services Office for Collaboration and Dispute Resolution, in partnership with the Mitchell Hamline School of Law Dispute Resolution Institute and the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, is organizing the Falcon Heights Community Conversations on Inclusion and Policing. We are seeking individuals with training or experience in facilitation, mediation, collaborative problem solving, or community engagement to serve as table facilitators.
Background
The City of Falcon Heights Inclusion and Policing Task Force was formed to make recommendations to the City Council on how to make the City more inclusive and welcoming and on its policing values and policies.
The Task Force is convening a series of five Community Conversations to involve the Community in developing the recommendations and in working together to build a more inclusive and welcoming community and developing policing practices that reflect the values of the Community.
Participants are encouraged to attend all five sessions as they build on each other but may attend as many or few as they are able. At each conversation part of the evening will be spent in a large group and part will be spent in small group Circles. Circles are guided by restorative values that foster deep, courageous, honest and self-reflective dialogue.
