Many members of the Mitchell Hamline community have inquired in recent weeks about how they might help in the aftermath of the George Floyd killing. Others may find themselves in need of legal or other services in connection with the protests and civil unrest that followed Floyd’s death on May 25.
Below is a list of resources Mitchell Hamline has compiled so far. The list will change as the situation changes but is intended to provide a starting place.
— VLN/Legal CORPS has a volunteer attorney intake line for small businesses and nonprofits impacted by the damage and destruction caused by the recent civil unrest, and also for issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic. (612) 752-6687.
–Maslon is offering no-cost/pro bono insurance advice to small-business owners affected by the protests.
–Fredrikson & Byron has a call-in line and online intake form to help business owners efficiently file a request for assistance. (612) 492-8078 or legalhelp@fredlaw.com. Business owners will receive a return call or email within 24 hours to conduct a full intake.
