The Health Law Institute’s Food Law Center is excited to introduce a new course this upcoming spring semester titled Food Safety and the Law, that will be taught by our new adjunct professors Melanie Neumann and Jennifer Erickson.
Course Description: This course is a specialized course for the Food Law Center that will cover the practical application of food safety laws, regulations, and guidance to advise clients in the food industry. Students will gain an understanding of the complexity of food safety law in the United States. They will also learn how to guide clients in preventing or responding to food safety issues in order to avoid or mitigate the legal and social consequences of a foodborne illness outbreak.
