We are excited about Mitchell Hamline’s second annual Giving Day and grateful for your commitment to being an ambassador! Below is a toolkit that will assist in our efforts to raise awareness, participation, and money.
What is Giving Day?
It’s a dedicated day, and one of special intent, for alumni and friends to give back by supporting future students through our annual fund in a way that is meaningful to them.
What is the annual fund?
The annual fund is an opportunity to make a contribution that has an immediate impact. Our annual fund has the following designations:
- General/unrestricted support
- Blended-learning and innovation
- Diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts
- Student scholarships
- Student Law Review
- Clinics
- Centers and Institutes:
- Center for Law and Business
- Dispute Resolution Institute
- Health Law Institute
- Institute to Transform Child Protection
- Intellectual Property Institute
- Native American Law and Sovereignty Institute
To learn more about these programs, visit our website at mitchellhamline.edu.
When is Giving Day?
Mitchell Hamline Giving Day will be Wednesday, March 13. The site will be live on Wednesday, March 1, for donors who want to give early and extended to Wednesday, March 20, to reach or exceed our goal: mitchellhamline.edu/givingday.
How can you help?
- Make a gift on Wednesday, March 13.
- Share with your network and thank them for joining you. Sample social media posts and email copy are provided below, or you can create your own.
Become a Giving Day Ambassador
As part of your efforts to support Giving Day, you can access resources from the Giving Day site. After you sign in, you can use the ambassador dashboard to get the word out to your network. From your dashboard, you can:
- See the results of your efforts
- Send emails
Your ambassador referral link
You’ll be given a custom referral link to track donors and interactions you generate, so you can see the impact of your outreach.
You can share through the dashboard by email or social media—you just need to be logged in to those accounts. If you’d prefer not to use the dashboard to share, but you’d like to use your link, just copy and paste the link into your emails and social media so you can see the results of your work!

I’m proud to be a part of Mitchell Hamline’s Giving Day on March 13, 2024, and am reaching out to ask that you join me in supporting the law school and its students by giving to the annual fund. Your gift–in any amount, toward any designation that’s important to you–helps make legal education more accessible and assists students with the necessary resources to succeed in law school, their profession, and beyond.
[Add a personal sentence or two about what your time in law school meant to you.]
