The first MAX by AccessLex® $5,000 scholarship drawing of the 2023 – 2024 year is one month away, on November 1. For this first drawing, we will randomly select two students from each class (1L, 2L, 3L) who have completed MAX courses and/or attended MAX events to earn scholarship entries. Natalie will be sharing sample language and promotional materials that you can use to encourage your students to earn additional scholarship entries, and you can always access scholarship promotion materials in the MAX Communications Toolkit throughout the year.
In the case that one of your students is randomly selected as one of the $5,000 scholarship winners, I have outlined the official notification and scholarship check procedure below:
- Enrollment Verification: AccessLex will reach out to you to confirm the enrollment of your student. Enrollment must be confirmed within two business days.
- Student Notification: AccessLex will then reach out to your student via email to inform them they have won a $5,000 MAX by AccessLex scholarship. They will be prompted to sign our MAX by AccessLex Scholarship Drawing Prize Acceptance/Affidavit of Eligibility and Release Form and then submit two photos (one headshot and one candid) and an AccessLex Institute or MAX by AccessLex testimonial. The affidavit must be signed electronically within seven days of issuance.
- Scholarship Disbursement: To process the scholarship check, you must submit a copy of your institution’s W-9 (and the address for where the check should be mailed) within 10 business days of award notification. If your institution has any additional requirements related to the scholarship check, they should be disclosed to AccessLex at this time. The scholarship check will be made payable to the institution and include a cover letter with your student’s name and student ID number. Scholarship checks are mailed to the address provided.
Good luck to you and your students with the upcoming drawing – and hopefully I will be reaching back out to you in early November with the exciting news that one of your students has won!
