Public Health Law Center staff attorney Kerry Cork’s session at the Reduce Tobacco Use conference in Arlington, VA, was presented by Pat McKeon, Regional Director, American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest. Their session, “It’s About Time,” focused on addressing tobacco use in residential facilities for high risk youth and vulnerable adults.

Iris Freeman was appointed to a national committee, coordinated by the Administration on Aging/Administration for Community Living to support the implementation of the Elder Justice Roadmap in the field of long-term care services and supports. The committee’s initial task will be an environmental scan of the the available training on abuse prevention for direct care workers.

This project will build consensus around national standards for the certification of decision aids; and identify approaches to measure the quality of decision making and provide guidance to support the development of measures to assess the impact of shared decision making.
