Governor Mark Dayton has proclaimed Tuesday, October 18, 2016 as Medical Alley Day in Minnesota.
WHEREAS: Minnesota’s unique historical contributions to healthcare delivery and management, medical technology invention, innovation and entrepreneurship have earned it global recognition as the world’s “Medical Alley,” and
WHEREAS: Minnesota’s Medical Alley has been enshrined in the Smithsonian’s American History Museum; and
WHEREAS: Minnesota’s Medical Alley is the global epicenter of health technology innovation and care and represents the world’s most densely concentrated medical technology cluster; and
WHEREAS: Minnesota’s Medical Alley is hosting the 2016 AdvaMed (Advanced Medical Technology Association) MedTech Conference and more than 2,500 health technology professionals from around the world; and
WHEREAS: Minnesota’s Medical Alley has nearly $23 billion annual impact on Minnesota’s economy and employs more than 125,000 Minnesotans across the state.
