Professor David Allen Larson was a guest on the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution podcast where he discussed the upcoming Section of Dispute Resolution’s Tech Expo to be held on September 7. Professor Larson is the Chair Elect of the Section and Co-Chair for the Tech Expo which will feature technology providers offering services that include decisional support, artificial intelligence, and communication tools as well as keynote presentations, educational sessions, technology demonstrations, social networking opportunities, and evening entertainment.

Professor David Allen Larson presented “Access to Justice and Persons with Disabilities” at the American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution Tech Expo. Professor Larson organized the session and invited three other individuals to join him: Professor Emeritus Ethan Katsh (affectionately known as the Father of ODR), Jason Taylor (website disability accessibility company Usablenet), and Mitchell Hamline law student Tim Smitley (who discussed challenges he faces negotiating websites with a visual impairment).

Professor David Allen Larson organized and moderated a panel titled “Trailblazing from Past to Present: Overcoming Challenges in Leadership” as part of the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution Tech Expo. The panel featured Jill Wine-Banks, the only female prosecutor in the Watergate trial, the first woman to serve as General Counsel of the U.S. Army, and the first female Executive Director of the American Bar Association. She was joined by Christie Hefner, the longest serving female Chairman/CEO of a publicly traded company,
Playboy Enterprises, and now a strategic advisor to businesses as they discussed challenges faced by women in leadership positions.

OTHER: 9/15/2020 Study Committee on the Uniform Determination of Death Act
Professor Thaddeus Pope successfully petitioned the Uniform Law Commission to appoint a Study Committee to examine amendments to the Uniform Determination of Death Act. He was subsequently invited to serve as official Observer on the Committee.
