For any textbooks that you would like to request in an alternative format, please follow the steps below:
- Log into your MHSL Disability Services Student Portal
- Under the “Accommodations” box, click on “Alternative Formats”
- In the upper right corner, select “Requests”
- On this page, you may enter the details of the textbook you are requesting under “Reading Material”. Please note that you may only submit a request for one book at a time.
- After the form is completed, select “Submit Request” and repeat for all textbooks you would like to request
- After submitting your request(s), select “Upload Receipt” in the upper right-hand corner of the page and upload your receipt(s) under “Receipt Detail”
- To submit requests to the publisher, we need an invoice receipt of the book(s) purchase with these things listed (please make sure this information matches your work order):
- Title and edition
- Authors
- Publisher
- ISBN
- Student’s name
- Student’s shipping address
You’ve Requested Your Alternative Format Books, Now What?
- You will receive a confirmation email indicating that Disability Services has received your alternative format request.
- If a receipt is not submitted, our office will send a request for a receipt.
- You can check the status of your request at any time by returning to the “Requests” page in the “Alternative Formats” section of the “Accommodations” box.
- Once your request has been fulfilled, you will receive an email notifying you that your request is available for download.
- To download your alternative format textbook:
- Log into your MHSL Disability Services Student Portal
- Under the “Accommodations” box, click on “Alternative Formats”
- Under “Requests Summary,” select “Download Book”
- On this page, you will find a record of your submission(s). Select “Download”
- You will be directed to a OneDrive folder that is personal to you, where you can find your available textbooks for the semester
