Accommodation process
Welcome to Disability Services. Our team is excited to work with you!
Students with disabilities who would like to explore accommodations can do so by following the accommodation request process. Students will be asked to provide information regarding their disability and any accommodations they may have had in the past.
- Complete the online Accommodation Request Form.
- Submit current documentation. Students may use the documentation information page as a helpful reference. If you do not have access to documentation, the Disability Services team can navigate options with you.
- Meet with a member of the Disability Services team to discuss request.
- Student meetings take place in-person, via phone, via Zoom or Microsoft Teams, and are typically scheduled for 45-60 minutes. The initial meeting is an important part of the interactive process and is an opportunity to discuss the accommodation request and any additional information you feel may be relevant.
- Accommodations requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
- Based on the student meeting, the Disability Services team member will review all information and determine reasonable accommodation(s). Students will be provided information on any approved accommodations in a timely manner following their initial appointment.
- Please know the review process can take up to two weeks or more (from when you submit your Accommodation Request Form), depending on the complexity of your request. Delays in scheduling or limited appointment availability may impact the overall timeline. We encourage students to submit requests as early as possible.
