“I started at Prime Therapeutics on March 23, 2015, I graduated on May 22, 2015. Prime is a Pharmacy Benefit Manager, we are responsible for adjudicating the pharmaceutical claims for the health plans that our clients offer. Some of the plans that we service are Medicare and Medicaid plans. There is a great deal of scrutiny in government programs and pharmacy coverage is no exception. The department I work in is Programmatic Compliance. We focus mainly on the Seven Elements aspect of compliance. I monitor training and conflict of interest disclosure, as well as being a member of a team that works on a few processes that are required to keep our accreditation. The Hamline University Health Law Institute gave me the background to be successful early in my career. I had never worked in the health care industry prior to this position. The Health Law Institute gave me the knowledge and skills that I needed to be successful in a complicated industry. There are many things that are covered in the Health Law curriculum that you can apply in your career the first day. I would recommend both of the certificates to anyone that is looking to set themselves apart in a growing field.”
