Kathleen (Swertfeger) McNaughton, a December 2008 graduate from Hamline University School of Law and the Health Law Institute Certificate program, is enjoying working for Mayo Clinic and growing her career in the healthcare industry. Kathleen began her career at Mayo Clinic in 2009 when she was hired to manage provider network contracting for Mayo Clinic’s Third Party Administrator, Mayo Clinic Health Solutions. Her role later expanded into general payer compliance topics as well as client and vendor contracting, which paved the way toward her current role as Compliance and Legal Director for Mayo Clinic Global Business Solutions. In this role, she is also the designated Compliance Officer for Health Tradition Health Plan and Mayo Clinic Health Solutions. Kathleen would like to thank Hamline University School of Law and the Health Law Institute Certificate program for providing a solid foundation in law and healthcare compliance. She would also like to encourage current Mitchell Hamline law students interested in healthcare law to participate in the healthcare certificate programs. Healthcare is a rapidly growing industry and full of opportunity. Kathleen is also interested in connecting with other healthcare professionals interested in forming a healthcare payer compliance collaborative. If you are interested in this networking opportunity, please contact Kathleen at mcnaughton.kathleen@mayo.edu.
