“In June, I joined the Minnesota Center for Health Care Ethics as Operations Manager and Associate for Health Law & Ethics. MCHCE is a nonprofit supporting organization for its sponsors, Fairview Health Services, HealthEast Care System, and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, with the mission to support these organizations in providing high-quality clinical and organizational ethics education, consultation, and policy development. My position is divided between managing the operational aspects of the nonprofit and contributing to the substantive mission of the Center.
“I am thankful every day for my experiences in the Health Law Institute. My coursework in the Health Law certificate program and my work with Professor Pope allowed me to build substantially upon the background I already had in bioethics. The Health Care Compliance program gave me a broader perspective on the health care field that I continue to use in new and often unexpected ways, while also preparing me for many of the operational challenges of my new position. And it was through a Health Law Institute-sponsored event that I first learned of MCHCE and made contact with my colleagues. I strongly encourage all students interested in any aspects of health law to take part in the fantastic programs that the Health Law Institute has to offer!”
