The Finance office will disburse FSA credit balances to students within 14 days of the date it was created or within 14 days of the first day of class. Students with credit balances have two options to receive funds. The preferred method is an eRefund through Transact (formerly CASHNet®). The second option is to receive the refund by a paper check. To set up the electronic depositing of your check through Transact start by accessing your student account. For more information see Electronic Payments and Refunds. Paper checks will automatically be mailed to the student’s current address on file. Subsequent paper checks and eRefunds are disbursed every Friday.

If you decide within 21 days of the disbursement to return some or all of the funds to your lender, you have three choices:
- Return the original check to the Finance Office with a written statement indicating the amount and which loan to repay.
- E-mail [email protected] to request that your check be voided and returned to your servicer.
- Repay loans directly to the servicer. Any payment you make within 120 days of disbursement will result in cancellation of fees and interest for those disbursed funds.
If you received your check via eRefund and decide to return some or all of the funds to your lender, you have three choices:
- E-mail [email protected] to request that your check be voided and returned to your servicer.
- E-mail [email protected] and tell them how much you plan to return. Then make a payment to your student account (preferably E-check since there are no fees) for that amount.
- Repay loans directly to the servicer. Any payment you make within 120 days of disbursement will result in cancellation of fees and interest for those disbursed funds.
