Alternative Testing Exam Requests
The Disability Services team will no longer use the Exam Variance Request Form. Instead, all exam requests will be submitted through your Disability Services Student Portal.
For any quizzes/exams/finals where you need testing accommodations, please follow the steps below:
- Log into your MHSL Disability Services Student Portal
- Under the “Accommodations” box, click on “Alternative Testing”
- From the drop-down menu at the top of the page, select the class you would like to schedule an exam for. Click on the “Schedule Exam”
- Please know you will need to generate Accommodation Letters of your classes in order for them to appear in your Alternative Testing module.
- On the “Exam Request” page, scroll down and complete the “Exam Detail” section. Please be sure to select the appropriate exam type and input all essential information. After you have answered all of the questions, click on “Add Exam Request.”
- After submitting an exam request, you will see a “System Update is Successful”
You’ve Scheduled Your Exam, Now What?
- You will receive a confirmation email indicating that Disability Services has received your exam request.
- You can check the status of each submitted exam request under the “All Exam Requests” section in the “Alternative Testing” box
- For exam requests that have not yet been processed/approved, you can click “View” on the exam request to access notes/information entered by our staff.
- Once your exam details have been confirmed and posted on Canvas/Themis, you will receive an additional confirmation email stating that your exam request has been processed and any additional information you should be aware of.
