People v. Minnis, 67 N.E.3d 272 (Ill. 2016)
Nature of Case: Criminal appeal. State trial court dismissed prosecution for failure of defendant-appellee to register online identifiers, to wit, a Facebook profile. State appealed.
Holding: Illinois Supreme Court held that state statute requiring registrants to register online identifiers was narrowly tailored, did not burden more speech than was necessary, and was therefore constitutional.
