In re J.B., 107 A.3d 1 (Pa. 2014)
Nature of Case: Group of juvenile defendants in Pennsylvania, who were adjudicated delinquent of sexual offenses, challenged constitutionality of Pennsylvania SORNA statute which mandated lifetime registration, alleging inter alia, that it violated their Due Process rights by way of creating an irrebuttable presumption of dangerousness under SORN.
Holding: Pennsylvania Supreme Court held that PA SORN statute impermissibly deprived juveniles of reputational interests protected by state constitution, thereby depriving them of the due process of law.
